In today's society, more and more vehicles are traveling on the road, which undoubtedly makes the traffic environment become more complex, traffic accidents also occur frequently, almost half of the traffic fatalities occur at night, night driving safety has become a breakthrough in automotive lighting innovation. With the development of technologies such as machine vision, complex sensing, and array light sources, as well as the market demand for intelligent driving assistance tools, the self-adjusting high beam system - ADB (Adaptive Driving Beam) has emerged. The rise of self-adjusting high beams is a new era in automotive lighting systems. European and Japanese automakers, tier-one suppliers and light technology providers have begun to flock to the emerging market for self-adjusting high beams (ADB). Self-adjusting high beam (ADB) is a kind of intelligent high beam control system that can self-adjust and change the high beam light type according to the road conditions. The ADB system automatically turns on or off the high beams for the driver according to the vehicle's driving status, environmental status, and road vehicle status. At the same time, according to the position of the vehicle in the field of vision in front of the vehicle, self-adjustment changes the light pattern of the high beam, in order to avoid causing glare to other road users.

Our company also follows the footsteps of the market to launch the automotive car anti-glare self-adjusting high beam system (ADB) program based on NXP S32K144 + TI TPS92662-Q1, the use of matrix headlamps, to achieve the driver to automatically turn on or off the high beam.

Hardware Design:

MCU Board: using NXP S32K144 as Lighting ECU Microcontroller, on the one hand, connects with BCM and other ECUs through CAN bus, on the other hand, uses UART paired with CAN entity layer to communicate with TI LED Matrix Manage TPS92662-Q1.

ARM Cortex-M4 up to 112Mhz;

Flash/RAM-512 KB / 64KB;

Rich peripheral resources: 4 x 16bit timer, 1 x 32bit LP timer, RTC, 4 x LPSPI (with 1 emulated SPI by Flex IO), 4 x LPUART, 3 x FlexCAN, 2 x 16 (12-bit) ADCs.

Function Safety ASIL-B

ADB Board: Using TI TPS92662-Q1 as LED Matrix Manage, a single one can independently control up to 12 LEDs, the program uses a total of two TS92662-Q1, each IC with 8 CREE automotive grade LEDs, a total of 16 LEDs.

-Input voltage range: 4.5 V to 60 V

-Four substrings of three series switches (12 LED Max)

- Multi-Drop UART communication interface

-Compatible with CAN physical layer

- Crystal Oscillator Driver

-External EEPROM I2C interface

Programmable 10-bit PWM dimming

- LED open and short circuit detection and protection

-AEC-Q100 certified for automotive applications

POWER Board: Using TI LM5122 with TPS92518HV-Q1 BOOST+BUCK dual-stage architecture as the LED driver, and using TI TPS54260-Q1 to provide 5V power supply for the MCU and LED Matrix Manage.

Vision Processing Board: NXP S32V MPU with 720p camera is used to realize the function of vision processing. The view of the vehicle in front captured by the camera is transmitted to the NXP S32V chip for processing, and the algorithm converts the view information into luminance information. Finally, the ADB Board analyzes and processes the received luminance information, and then sends out commands to extinguish the lights in the area of the vehicle in front of the camera.

-S32V234 is Cortex-M4 + quad-core Cortex-A53, ISO26262 certified, with automotive safety rating up to ASIL-B.

-APEX2 professional image processor, can process 512KB of data simultaneously

-Includes GPU to run 360° panoramic surround view algorithms.

-Built-in HDR ISP, up to 8 cameras can be accessed at the same time

Core technology advantages

Can be used with lenses to control the illumination of 15 dark zones in front of you

Realize specific lighting effects, such as flowing light effect, etc.

Automatically turn on the high beams: when the vehicle speed exceeds a certain value at night, the high beams will be automatically turned on.

With the front camera and ADAS to realize selective avoidance of high beam light, so that the other side of the car, the car in front, pedestrians, objects are not attacked by the high beam.

►Program Specifications

Modularized design, divided into three parts: MCU Board, Power Board, ADB Board, which is convenient for customers to disassemble and develop.

Using 24 LEDs, each LED can be independently controlled to light or dark.

The ADB Board is equipped with a special headlight lens, which can show customers the actual matrix headlight effect at mass production level during promotion.

Complies with AEC-Q100 certification
